About me

I’m a software developer, product manager, entrepreneur, and all around technologist. My strengths include data & analytics, architecture, leadership, APIs. As a developer I consider myself fullstack, although I’m strongest on the backend, especially regarding architecture (with a particular focus on code architecture). I do enjoy front end development as well, having written HTML/CSS/Javascript for the past 27 years.

My strongest languages are Scala, Javascript/Typescript, Kotlin, and Java, with a smattering of experience in Python, Ruby, Perl, Haskell, PHP, VB, C++, and R.

I had early exposure in my career to APIs, so that has always been a focus of mine. I also have strong experience in ad serving and Real Time Bidding. Lately, however, my focus has shifted onto data products, especially regarding financial services. I have strong experience in modeling, pipelines, reporting, dashboards, and data analysis.

Fun fact: although some think it’s spelled Randall Unger, I have the pleasure of using the unique spelling Randle Unger instead.
